Y10 GCSE Drama students have been going back to where it all started - Ancient Greece. They have been discovering how drama was first created and appreciating the scale of the giant amphitheatre's the first ever actors would have performed in. They have realised that the masks of drama (the iconic symbol still used today) comes from Ancient Greece and is because the first 2 genres of drama were comedy and tragedy. They have explored some pretty gruesome storylines (the Greeks didn't half know how to tell a tragedy!) and are working on performing an extract from the play Antigone. Not bad to say that in their first 10 weeks of the course they have also been to London to see a show and have already performed in front of a live audience - well, the show must go on!
